Skanska opts for Interaxo Project in their new hospital project in Sweden

The new hospital in Växjö, Sweden, is not only designed with patients and workers in mind; it's built for the environment. Skanska needed a CDE solution that could handle the complexity of the hospital project, and the decision landed on Interaxo. Read on about how the tool supported the project's high climate ambitions, ensuring quality and minimising costly errors along the way.

Sustainability in hospitals: Building for the future

For nearly 20 years, Skanska and Tribia have worked closely together. Tribia’s collaboration solutions for construction projects have contributed to higher quality, reduced time consumption and lower costs across Skanska’s projects. The next project in line is the new hospital in Växjö, Sweden, which will replace the area’s current hospital.

The aim is to build an efficient and patient-safe hospital that supports future care needs and new ways of working. The project also has ambitious sustainability goals, focusing on reducing energy consumption, lowering the climate impact of materials, and optimising the building’s design. The modern design is developed by the architectural firms Arkitema and LINK Arkitektur.

“We are honoured by the trust that we, together with Region Kronoberg, have been given to create a modern hospital tailored to future healthcare needs and working methods,” says Wilhelm Andersson, Project Manager at Skanska. “The project has high climate ambitions, which align well with our ambition to create a more sustainable society. It was therefore important for us to find robust project tools for information management that can maintain high quality and ensure a smooth process in this important project. If we can reduce errors and deviations, this is also beneficial from a sustainability perspective,” he adds.

“We are incredibly proud of our long-standing collaboration with Skanska and to now contribute to the new hospital in Växjö. It is also particularly rewarding to see how a long-term client like Skanska has been part of our company’s transformation journey – from the project tool Apricon to adopting Interaxo, not only for this project but for an increasing number of projects,” says Christoffer Maxe, Customer Success Manager at Tribia. He continues: “Collaborating with and supporting customers who prioritise digitalisation and continuously seek more efficient ways of working is truly exciting. If we can reduce errors and deviations, this is also beneficial from a sustainability perspective.”
